16gb is enough for even large RAMdisks, unless you plan to load an entire modern day MMO like gw2 or Rift on it.

I did a benchmarking video that showed a ramdisk vs samsung 840 evo a few months back.

Results were negligible.

Not that I'm thwarting you, I totally plan to jump to 32gb ram because ram is cheap. Just sayin you should do benchmarks and be sure that all the time spent working with ramdisks isn't pissing in the wind.
