I recently lost ~30lbs (220 to 190 at 6'2" height) just from getting a doberman puppy that requires daily walks etc. It really doesn't take a huge amount of energy to shed some extra weight, IMO maintaining motivation and consistency is the hard part.
On a side note, until I hit 30 I could eat anything and stay at ~170lbs. Now in my early 30's, not so much, and I know people that looked very fit, but in their 40's find out that their innards are all messed up due to poor diet.
