I learned quickly don't ask for wishes, you'd get them instantly, behind every bush! But wording those wishes took FOREVER and he'd fork us every time. Fireballs in dungeons are bad. Approach water with caution. Stealing dice and lighters was acceptable. Leaving the table setup to play for weeks was the norm.
We've still got our books & dice tho we haven't played in years now, everyone scattered to the winds over the years. I miss the fun and companionship of those house parties, we had a blast.
Great thread!

Of course, it was really about collecting stacks of books and bags of dice. I kept mine (dozens of them, of course) in an old Crown Royal bag, and it's still kicking around the house, somewhere.
And maps - definitely all about the maps. A friend of mine (the DM in my playing adventures) had a mad talent for cartography, and was hand drawing professional caliber stuff for years.
Ahh, I'm getting all warm and glowwy - although that could be the expresso.
