Gave the forums a search for keywords sorry if I missed it..

Starting NPC Merko Quetalis in the hall of truth courtyard gives you a note to deliver to Altunic Jartin, the shield merchant across from inn3 in EC. You give it to him and some dude shows up you have to kill, then he asks for a cloth shirt and he gives you the token of generosity... However! I gave him the note and he just ate it and nothing happened.
