Necros have much better survivability chances when the shit hits the fan.
Feign death tops any other temporary solution such as stuns and mezes. Combine this with the ability to heal yourself and you rarely have to resort to gating out of a bad situation.
Chanters are very powerful it's true, but everything has to be in alignment for the enchanter to pull of amazing feats. 1 bad resist at the wrong time and we don't get a pause button like necros do.
