The XP bonus is actually probably working against that person. The XP is so fast and easy that there is really very little reason for a solo capable class to go out of their way to group with a melee. If I can make 1/3 of a level in 45 mins, why run over to Guk to group with someone. As long as I just get that XP in as fast as possible, I can just easily solo the camps I may need later or farm plat to twink a melee.
You see this especially with enchanters. They are probably one of the most fun group classes in the game, but because they solo so easily, every chanter on this box just pushes straight for endgame. The more XP bonus, the more incentive for them to ignore lesser classes that would slow them down.
When XP rates were lower I would group largely out of boredom. I was not going to be rewarded with a quick level, so I might go for the reward of a gear upgrade. But again, now that I can just suck it up and blow through a level or two, I'm not likely to waste time grouping with someone who is more likely than not to both slow me down and be an adversary later on down the line.
That latter point is a deficiency of the FFA ruleset, but combined with easy XP, it pretty much insures that very little community will ever exist here. If XP was slower you would be kind of forced to enjoy the ride and take some detours. If XP was slower and you knew that Nubwarr <LFG> would still be a bro 3 months from now instead of selling out for the easy pixels, you might make a new friend. But here? Just chill in your camp and make 60 as fast as you can so you can look out for yourself.
