GMs probably won't do anything at all, I'm sure there was a post not long about about staff not stepping in on MQ's (be they bugged or otherwise).
Normally, I would be all for burning the scam artist at all costs. However, you have to be some kind of special to not double check with a guild's leader/s when it comes to purchasing an MQ of this type.
Let this be a major lesson to everyone, don't MQ unless you're willing to fully accept the risk involved. There is not a guild tag reputable enough to warrant blindly believing someone you've never played with before.
TL;DR: A few questions by the purchaser could have saved this entire fiasco from happening. Don't hold your breath on staff returning items and be thankful a guild is willing to pay for your ignorance.
