I didn't think I would get mine for quite a long time, but finally did at lvl 58
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I played out there, got to know people, and some awesome people took it upon themselves to help me get my epic - no strings attached, just to make some magic happen one night.
I am not saying this will happen to you, but my plan was to keep camping in Seb to get good drops and hopefully play for the MQ. But you are not yet able to camp there, but soon will be. And then you will get some good drops, and just save and save, even on the little things that a lot of people "pass" on, as they all add up.
And you do not need to join a guild to get one, but that is one avenue. If you find a guild where you like the people etc, and feel it is right, join it for that reason (not to get epic). You can still function and be an asset to groups in the interim

I know probably not what you want to hear, but this was my plan of attack, until I was jolted one night, in a good way, where some awesome people made a memorable night in my p99 life
