That was my thinking, too, swish, but my friends and I have all concluded that we are going to wait till at least summer for the new consoles. For one, because we are all tapped out with kids, other interests, etc and by the time you get an extra controller, accessories, and a couple games that's going to be an 800 dollar day at least. Not to mention if there is some manufacturing or design flaw like the overheating problem that caused the red ring on like 1/3 of all of the original 360s sold, we would like to buy after that is revealed and cleaned up.
But for me, mostly, its because I have way too many games that I want to finish and max out achievements for before I upgrade. I'm sure the lack of downward compatibility means we are getting a significant tech jump with this generation and bodes well for the future, but it really sucks when you still have a shelf full of games you would like to play but can't do them all at once.
So, having just gotten my box back online for the first time since spring, I couldn't wait on AC4 especially but also GTA5. Both are great if you like those games. I skipped blackops2 last year because they were getting so stupidly repetitive with the cod games I thought it was a waste of time and money, but the only shooter I've really played in a couple years has been BL2. I figured I was due so I grabbed ghosts. I ran the first couple of campaign missions and like one mp session. At first glance it seems like improved graphics (stunningly really) and a more realistic weapon feel. Very interested in the squad play, but finishing off AC right now.
What happened with BF? I have played the last couple but decided to hold off as my plate is full right now with the others.
