Gil spouting off irrelevant "facts" and even inaccurate "facts" is beyond stupid. Since the inception of this emu, guilds have been merging and absorbing other guilds. It's pointless to act like it's any different when TMO did so with DA, when before them DA absorbed 3/4 of Wrathful Inquisition while IB absorbed the other quarter. When that wasn't enough, they (IB) tried to absorb even more guilds (Transcendence). And this was still happening (albeit on a smaller scale) beforehand, pre-Sky. Shit is classic. Obviously these guilds' forces were bolstered and probably directly lead to more successful raids, hence the reason for doing so in the first place. Just how it plays out and the majority of any successful raiding guild on this server has been apart of it to some extent.

B) You failed to disagree with me, you just mixed ancient history with more recent history. I think the furthest back it's really worth going is when IB/DW became one raid force making the level of poopiness go sky high. THAT was when zerg forces really became the rule IMO; whether your opponent is any good or not, if there are enough of them answering a batphone they're gonna kill the mob.
