Best I can reason on these boards...
The topics that are beaten into the ground are ones that a lot of people end up thinking about at some point. This means different rounds of folks pick up an issue and we see it repeated (outside of the long-term fanatics. For them, I have no explanation).
This is a good thing in a way. It means new people become engaged with the community.
