The players who petitioned for redress may have thought the gods smiled upon them that day when their petitions were answered, but we of P99 know that it was not the gods, but Abacab who brought the light and bestowed the divine gifts to the benighted populace. Yea, verily it was Abacab who sought to bring the players nearer each other: that is, near enough to be in spell range to explode each others' heads off. Minstrels composed epic ballads of the event and sang them to the crowd. Many were fleet of foot and escaped, but legend tells that at least one was unresistably mezzed, maloed, tashed, snared, harmtouched, and finally backstabbed to death.
