Why can they not both coexist. There's layers to this world. It's not so black and white. There's different types of people in different niches. Classes.
There's people who just work to drink beer and pay taxes and breed and care nothing for their own perfection. They don't understand what their doing beyond, "This is a tasty pizza". They consume and work according to the bidding of those who are truly in absolute authority and power over them. They cannot perfect that pizza and use it to master their enemies.
They are blind to it. Trying to wake these people up is pointless and impossible. They continue to fail at doing anything meaningful, yet just survive. They can even be graceful in that failure. Just like the dog can be catching a Frisbee. Yet that same dog can be roadkill the next day.
Trying to resist it is pointless and impossible. I seek perfection and everyone at my level around me seeks to have more sex, beer, T.V. I'm bored with the "this is just another tasty pizza". I have perfected my Pizza making abilities and it is still not enough.
So I have woken up to the pointlessness and futility of the plebeian and rage at them for staying asleep. At the same time I am envious of the power elite. The people with the knowledge, brains, bodies, and resources to manipulate others on a grand scale. I don't blame them. They aren't at fault.
Yet like the Agent in the Matrix I look around at the Zoo they keep and I smell the animals living there. And live with disdain in my heart for the herd.
