DF1: mobs with the worse animations you've seen since the Atari warp all over the place and bug out. Then you manage to kill one somehow and get jacked by 3 people in a newbie zone.
You decide to feel the "epicness" of the game and run out into the woods, only to find a desolate wasteland devoid of all life except for AFK harvestbots.
You decide to PVP only to find the most horribly imbalanced PVP system ever created, with total shit clunky ass controls.
Then they make a sequel/expansion/whatever and its worse.
Don't play. This game is terrible.

When someone talks in absolutes with no nuances you know their opinion on that subject isnt worth much. Darkfall is probably not a great game, but sneaking up on someone with the cool terrain with the sounds they make getting louder and louder is not a thrill ive felt often in mmos. lots of little things like that, but some mechanics prevents it from being great.
