Must be an east of the Rockies thing. When I was in Kansas, I was hauling some lumber in my truck down the highway. I was in the left lane since my left turn was in like a quarter mile, and this guy starts riding my ass. I give him the finger and he goes apeshit. Lol yep that's a psycho. And you made the right choice by not crushing him. That's more of a last resort option, for sure.
