Not taking sides here...
But - why would you waste 2 hours?
If I was trying to sell something and someone didn't reply, I'd go on with whatever and not worry about it too much. Start auctioning the item again, etc.
That whole scenario isn't something I wouldn't expect. I'd figure something came up or the guy backed out and just didn't want to reply.
Nothing lost, it's not like he got the item and wouldn't pay up... Just sell it to someone else.
