I don't want a merge because it makes no logical sense for EITHER server. If you're a blue player who thinks teams is fun and then it merged into a FFA red99 server six months down the road are you going to stay? Does it make sense to merge them into our VP geared chars with our cohesive unit to get slaughtered? Those people are probably quitting. If you merge red99 into team99 you're completely killing the balance of team99. I can't think of a single logical argument to merge the two other than rogean doesn't want to pay for it. To ascribe other reasons to it is ludicrous.
I completely disagree with your assessment about velious and fixes, and if you recall, you made a similar assessment about Kunark which I disagreed with, and who turned out to be right on that one? Now in all fairness there were no fixes with that launch but you never attached fixes to the pop boost you claimed Kunark would bring. Red99 is just not an attractive option to most people. I've made thread after thread, post after post, in the blue forums, those people just aren't interested in FFA pvp regardless of how classic resists are here. They don't care they're getting cock blocked by TMO and could reroll here to contest for pixels. Teams is a completely different story, which again is why merging is retarded, and could jeopardize the health of the new server
My position for the longest time has been red needed fresh blood to ever thrive, not the return of the same 60 people who will burn out again, which is exactly what will happen a couple of months after velious. Since rogean and nilbog completely shot down the idea of blue transfers, and since I severely underestimated the desire by blue players for a team server, I truly believe this is the way to go.
Edit: I have no intention of "going hard" team99. I could never endure raiding VP on two servers at once or anything like that or even leveling to 60 again to be quite honest. What I do want is a chance to fuck around in classic where there's 30 people in every zone again and have a blast just pvping while talking sports and other things in a relaxed atmosphere. If anything my future on team99 is completely dependent upon the ultimate look and rules as well as timing, as I'm expecting a second child in December. If it launches then I may very well never even roll on team99, but that doesn't mean I still don't believe a merge is retarded, certainly one that's team99 to red99.
