Not that this helps at all but... I joined the server around 2 weeks ago. I treated the server just like I would have treated old Morrel Thule on the threshold of Velious. I knew I'd need to farm plat to get the starter gear.
I made a cleric that I cared about. Leveled in Butcherblock from 1-4 killing skellys and saving chips. Then I killed some orcs, and went back and killed skellys, saving every chip all the way to 9. I stopped, rolled a DE enchanter. Had that character level from 1-4 in Freeport killing skellys and saving every chip.
I took the Enchanter on the boat to Kalimdim to hand in a buttload of Bone Chips to Gunlok Jure to make level 8. Then I went to go fish up some Steins of Moggok for starter money. The steins sold decently as Alliance is bugged and will resist on both of the quests's end targets. Freeport faction improvement IS needed for a DE agnostic enchanter, but Janam and Rebby and 2 hours took care of that for me.
All the work done, I had what was needed for full banded armor, my spells, and a decent 200-300 pp weapon for the character I wanted to keep leveling.
I'd rather set my pubic hairs on fire before I'd ever pay someone real money for game currency, ever.
