SoW is an abbreviation, take the O in of makes a uh sound and the W in wolf does not make a woe sound. so its is pronounced Sew as in a needle pulling thread.

Why would you make an "uh" sound with O? Correct pronunciation is S-OW. If the correct pronunciation was "S-EW", it would be spelled SeW. Anyone can look at SOW and understand how to pronounce it without additional information. "S-EW" requires explanation why it is being pronounced that way.
