First off, everyone needs to try running Wineq as an administrator. You may also (and should) set wineq to run as an admin all the time by simply right clicking the shortcut icon, going to properties and checking 'run as administrator' and then hitting ok.
If that doesn't work, please read the FAQ linked in my sig to find out how to run eqgame.exe without patching your eq client (this is very important - if any of you inadvertently ran Sony's patcher you will need to reinstall eq and NOT DO THAT!). most of you will likely need to set your CPU affinity to 1 so you only use one core, this is easy to do (thank you so much for typing this out, nilbog, as i've never had to do it for a program and wasn't 100% sure how. I will be adding this to the faq tonight/tomorrow!!), and if you have eqgame.exe set up properly it should look something like this:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 1 "C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme however, yours will obviously look a little bit different depending on where you have EQ installed.
If you do all this and start getting the 'error referenced at memory blahblah 00000000x12' type of thing when you are trying to run eq, the answer for that is in the FAQ. Realistically, you should really try everything in the FAQ *first* before you repost here with your results. The FAQ isn't 100% comprehensive (that's not even possible) but it is very useful and fixes most issues people have with EQ and p99. So once you've troubleshot through all that, please repost here with your results and we will work on fixing the issue.
Please include as much detail as possible when you repost. Thanks all!
