My opinions are very informed, in fact only the last bit was hyperbole, where as the post by you, Kagatob, was ridiculously ignorant and reactionary, not to mention its thesis was that I was trolling, rather than making a salient point.
The facts are simple: On 26 February 2012 Martin was on his way home, minding his own business armed with a can of iced tea and a bag of Skittles. Zimmerman pursued him, armed with a 9mm handgun, believing him to be a criminal. Martin resisted. They fought. Zimmerman shot him dead.
Who called whom what and when, and who was stronger, and why, are all details to fill 24 hours of television that could be better put to use. Strip them all away and the truth remains that Martin would be alive if Zimmerman had not chased him down.
There is no doubt about who the aggressor was here. The only reason the two interacted at all, physically or otherwise, is that Zimmerman believed it was his civic duty to apprehend a teenager, who turned out to be doing nothing and who he deemed to be suspicious.
The message I get from this trial is if you're black/suspicious looking (profiling IMO) and you go out into public, if someone fucks with you, you have no right to fight back or you can be shot. If you don't fight back, you can just get fucked with for no reason. Trayvon had no idea who the fuck Zimmerman was, and most people would get physical when approached by some asshole with no badge asking you what you're doing, like it's their fucking business.
By the way, I have a great understanding of law, as I have a fucking JD and LLM (admittedly in anti-trust law), and why I waste my time dealing with you cocksuckers when I have to deal with a whole different breed everyday is still a self-inflicted mystery.
