A lot of people do see a point. I can't imagine that you're truly ignorant of it. When a wealthy player gifts a new player with 1K; is that cheating too? What if Bob was your friend irl and he gave you 200K to twink out a character? Would you be cheating?
Now if you're someone who would turn down the 1K because you want to make it your own way... then okay you don't get it....but that's not most people.
What about Game Genie? Loads of people (me included) totally loved that thing.
What if you JUST wanted to be that guy geared out in Crushbone soloing legos?
As the OP said.... I think part of the ignorance of WHY it happens is causing the issue on how its dealt with.
