Why can't they get some sort of a history:
Jeremy looted AON from Cazic Thule
Jeremy traded AON to Loraen
Loraen traded AON to Halmir
It seems like just looking at this even if you couldn't figure out how the dupe was working at least you would know WHO was doing it, just by looking at who profited from the creation of the item.
