This is a misconception. There IS a huge continuous pool of players coming in and going out.
There were 450,000 players during peak. I'm sure there are plenty that have not discovered the server and are still yet to "relive the experience". This time with cash.
I started 6 months ago. I am very social. I've become "friends" with a lot of people in that time. From my first days, Dokt (Leader - of what is left of Blackout) and I are the only ones still playing. (Although I haven't seen Dokt in a couple weeks. Dokt, I need a cleric. Please come play)
Sirken said he thinks RMT keeps players "playing". I don't fault him for thinking this. The server continues to have a healthy population, from the outside looking in.
The players RMT'ing don't stick around. I keep thinking about all those epic'd rogues wearing Fungi's sitting on accounts I know are not being played any longer. I think about the friends who started the same time I did, leveled easily and quickly being hugely twinked, then hit level 50 and disappeared when the gear didn't give them the advantage they had become accustomed to.

I agree with you, RMT doesn't keep people playing. People hop on, buy top end gear with some cash, and get burned out because they already have everything they would need. They see endgame is so time consuming and quit.

I say screw Velious, lets have a server wipe...start again, play to the timeline, and put this sorry business behind us [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I actually agree with you on something. I would love to see a fresh start.
