Yes, and they have made pretty decent money doing it. Not like millions of dollars like the WSOP players, but a few of the best players have made 300K+ over their magic pro days. They also get free air travel and appearance fees to locations all over the world, just for playing the game.

Don't try to fool anyone here please, there are less than 5 players in the 20 year history of the game who've made that much money in their entire professional 'careers' and it's taken them all well over a decade of
consistently playing the game well.
Most of the 'professionals' don't even hit 10K in prizes a year (less than a rookie minor league baseball player makes) and wouldn't be able to afford to keep playing the game if not for the sponsors.
Hell, their MVP players aren't even proud of what they do. Look up John Finkel and how he refused to even tell his girlfriend how much he played the game and got dumped after she found out.
