I don't mean to lump you with the worst of them either, you at least understand 'to each their own'. The seprglords look at someone playing a game 'for fun' and will point out that they aren't playing the game correctly, or to quote Tiggles that they are "Casual garbage" or in other cases claim that they aren't playing Magic at all. Fun never even enters the fucking equation with these guys.

I haven't played competitively since 2000. I went to Grand Prix Minneapolis in 2009 to hang with old friends, but I didn't even enter the main event. Wait, or did I? I can't even remember. Whatever, the tournament wasn't a primary consideration either way. When I play now, it's usually EDH with more focus on beer and weed than anything else.
I'm the same way on P99. I raided hardcore for a few months in 2010. Now I'm very casual. That's actually why I got so pissed at BDA. Chest sold it to me as a casual friendly guild and then there was pressure to poopsock. Count me out of that crap.
I find both experiences fun, but playing any game hardcore takes too much time to be sustainable. I only played tournament Magic as long as I did (2-3 years) because my girlfriend at the time liked to play tournaments, especially draft. I quit when she got tired of it.
