Go to an MTG tournament, warhammer fantasy tabletop convention, big dnd get together... the only difference is the age of the players usually.
The only truly annoying thing about them (besides the smells) is the overly immersed, my way or the highway attitude that a shit ton of them have.

I agree with this. It's often the same people. I haven't been around any mass of anime people, though. I don't really get it at all. I'm not really into any cartoons, though.
