If you are on a budget, then you can also solo just fine with a Gigantic Zweihander or even a BIBS or Silvery 2h.
Bronze is fine for your stock armor, but Fine Plate is better (slightly better AC, much lower weight).
Upgrade the slots that make sense with Darkforge, where it makes sense.

-Skull-shaped Barbute
-5/55 ring x 2
-Diamondine Earring x 2 (or 4str/2int earrings if the DEs are too expensive)
-Cloak of the Ice Bear (or the 45hp cloak (forget its name) if you can afford it)
Haste item when you can afford it. Mith 2h, or fbss, or whatever else.
Runed Bone Fork in your range slot - good resists for the cost.
