For those having issues, I might suggest downloading/running WireShark/tcpdump to sniff out the packets and see what the return value is while you are in TT. You'll get spammed all to hell, but maybe then a dev might be able to see why the packets are getting dropped.
Hopefully one of you who are afflicted has some system administration history and can decipher the output
