With a Cisco or CFA certificate you'll get a job, but you limit yourself to a job in the respective fields. You can do just about anything with a MBA or JD though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to hate on professional certificates - I think they're great if that is what you want to do. I just think that saying they're hands down more valuable than a graduate degree is kind of silly.
In some areas - it could be. Overall for life, probably not. Guess it depends on one's goals too.

Of course - Grad Degree + Certs = Profit.
