Character Select Crash/Zone Crash

I'm having a few issues...it happens roughly 50% of the time I play.

server selection screen - goes blank, I have to restart EQ a few times for it to show up.

character selection screen - freezes, can't zone in. i have to restart EQ 1 or 2x before I can finally log in

zoning - freezes, can't zone in. i have to restart EQ 1 or 2x before I can finally log in.

My internet is not the best (pavlov media wtf?) is there tweaks I can do?

I just started having the same issues, as well as another irl friend of mine. Server select will stay blank, gotta restart or relogin for it to load, then finally when you get to the char select, you have to hope it doesn't freeze when you try to enter the world. God forbid you decide to run anywhere far or try to switch characters, because its been basically a 80% chance of crashing on zone as well. What's the deal with this? It's been happening to me and her since the last patch, as well as a few others I spoke to on the forums. What gives? Is there any way to fix this? Apparently a fresh install doesn't work either.

This is happening to me more and more lately... I'm wondering if it's server side.

I was thinking it was, especially after I started getting it with a direct link to my router.

At first I thought maybe because of my wireless... but now today, on the wireless I am having zero problems.

Any of you find a solution for this? Looks like I am late to the party with this issue.

I started having same issue a few weeks ago. Was there a microsoft KB patch recently released?

Also, about 1/3 of the time when I can log in past the server select it either says my spell files are out of date (which they are not) or it does not show any of my characters. Scared the absolute shit outta me the first time, thought I got hacked and someone deleted Bob

when im on a laggy connection i experience those problems. Usually im in no laggy connection so i am good, unless server gets it self lagged.

Yea I dont seem to have any lag issues other than p99 forum load slowly sometimes. Other than that everything is zippy..downloads peak at 1.5m

That has been happening to me a lot as well. I also keep freezing up when trying to zone about half of the time. It is starting to get very frustrating and has had me stranded in the ocean a couple of times lol. I searched around and tried a few things like running as admin and using compatibility mode but it hasn't seemed to help.

poor Wi-Fi connections / router will cause this to happen all the time. when I plug into my cable modem this never happens. new router fixed the problem instantly.

My ping is usually about 70ms using WiFi with about 80%+ signal. I wish I could plug in directly to see if that would help. =/

I am knocking the shit outta my wood desk while i type this...but I rebooted my routed..full reset. And all appears to have been fixed.

Give it a try...let me know if it helps.
