Spell files outdated.. again?
 

Im getting the spell files error, only problem is ive been playing eq on p99 just fine for months now, and its happening again out of nowhere. Ive already tried re-patching them, didnt work.. Any ideas? Im playing on an acer aspire 5745..

I was getting this as well. I typically don't log in through the EQ Emu Launcher, but when I did I got through without the error.

So I guess it will be a bit before someone releases new spell files?

Yeah there was a patch but when you extract it and replace the spell files it isn't working and I'm still getting the spell files error like the OP probably is

Try using the launcher to boot into EQ. after running the launcher at least once, try running eqgame.exe with the -patchme extension on the shortcut (instructions are in the FAQ)

The same thing happened to me. Just re-run the patcher a few times. If that doesn't work, go back into the spell files you downloaded from the start up guide and re-replace them in your 1999 folder. That worked as well.

I had this same problem and I dont run the patcher because for some reason it won't work on my computer. I got it fixed when some guy gave me his updated files for the server, so if anybody can compress those new files and upload them for us that would be great. That fixed it last time for me.

tl;dr: Someone please upload the patched files for the server so we can manually copy them over.

They're uploaded. You can find the files in the News and Announcements forum, it is in the post called 'patch files blahblahblah'

You can also find them in my faq, its one of the stickied threads on this page (always read the FAQ before posting!!)

If the eqemulauncher doesnt update to the current files, thats because project1999 didnt update the eqemulauncher filelist =)
