Mine too

My apartment complex has this F'd up contract with a company who only provides 1Mb connections throughout the complex. It's better than dial-up, but not much. :(

Could the thread responders please mention whether their broadband providers operate as monopolies in their local regions? I would find that information interesting.

I scored 9.12 down and .44 up (with frequent connection problems outside the scope of a mere bandwidth test); the local broadband service does have a monopoly.

Mine (and Alleusion's)

It's not uber, but it does what we need and it's cheap. It's a small-time company and the main draw for me was their 200gb / month bandwidth limit over the local monopoly's 30gb. Which I went over every month.

It's fast enough for us, and it's only like $25/month.
