It was stressful but fun, thanks everyone. You all made it possible by self-governing and helping me manage.

Special thanks to Sirken, who went out of his way to promote at the request of some of my attendees (unknown to me at the time), when I saw that I knew I was about to be overwhelmed.. haha. Also thanks Doccuz, Seliaa, Mantic.

Also, if attendees see this, please respond to this thread with your zombie name and your character name, I'm curious who was who!



Knights Who Say Ni is holding an open game of Zombies in Greater Faydark, Friday @ 9pm EST. Meet at the PoD lift.
This should give PST players enough time to get home and participate.

--Rules--
1: Everyone must be a level one, High Elf. (No rangers, no track, no hide, this solves this)
2: No items other than starter weapon and tunic/robe.
3: You must PvP flag.
4: Innocents must have their weapons equipped to show they are not a zombie.
5: Zombies must have their weapons unequipped and may only fight hand to hand.
6: You may attempt to kill the zombies, but if they touch you, you're a zombie now
7: My word is the last word when it comes to the rules.
8: All participants must guild tag their participating character for guild chat, this avoids rule spam in ooc for non-participants.
9: Everyone must have a macro similar to, "/shout BRAAAIINSSS %t!!". You will click this macro after you have tagged someone with melee damage as a zombie.
10: No inventory clickies. (Jboots, Lev Rings, Invis Potions, Ring of Shadows, Peg Cloak, etc) There will be DMF referees.
11: No outside buffs, defined as, buffs not cast on you by yourself or another level 1 participant.

This macro will replace %t with the name of your target, such as if your target was Biggslick, it would say, "BRAAAIINSSS Biggslick!!". This will help me keep track of who is in the game and who has been converted to a zombie.


--Provisional Rules That May Be Called (Will Be Announced Before the Round Starts)--
10: Zombies must walk. (Ctrl + R)


-- How to become a zombie --
a: Being betrayed and killed by other innocents.
b: Dying to a guard, dying in any way.
c: Melee attack of 1 dmg or more from a zombie, misses do not count
d: Falling off Kelethin, even if you survive
e: For caster zombies: zombie spells do not tag you, unless it kills you

I encourage high levels to come along and participate as referees if they choose not to roll a lowbie.

I encourage new players to participate, there will be minimal prizes announced at the beginning of each round. You do not have to be a guild member to win but in order to participate we will be tagging your game character to keep track of everyone in guild chat.

How the game works

/random 100, the highest roll will be the zombie, in case of a tie for highest, the tie rolls either reroll OR all become zombies

Everyone else will go up into Kelethin and hide, the zombie will count to 10 in /ooc

(see above for technical rules, feel free to post questions, critiques, comments, & concerns)

Last man or woman standing wins the round

Prizes up for grabs for various rounds (Prizes for that round will be announced before the round starts)

Well, by the time the zombies begin to take over, I assume they'll just start killing innocents instead of just hitting them once. And, just general decency, beyond that hopefully a few high levels will show up to referee.

Also, there will be a monitor initially following the starting zombie, so it will be easy to keep track of until he starts to spread his disease.. then it'll get crazy haha.

this sounds like a lot of fun.
however, after someone is killed and becomes a zombie, where are they supposed to loot weapons? from their original corpse? this may stifle the fun (zombies need to be able to zerg!), and you're gonna get people who can't find their corpses.

sounds like innocents should be carrying the weapons instead of the zombies (and this would make more sense, too).

That's true. Rules changed accordingly.

They'd never catch the innocents right? Unless they got cornered in the upper reaches of the city.

If you've ever played games like Zombie Fortress in gmod or Team Fortress they do eventually get someone hiding in a house or someone that gets stuck and by the time you reach mid game there are so many zombies they tend to corner people quickly anyway. But yeah, that would slow down games, I'll keep us in the realm of 28 Days Later zombies. SPEED ZOMBIES!!

I do however maintain the ability to call provisional rules from match to match, we might have a walking round~
