Favorite whiskey?

Judging by the personalities on here, I'm gonna guess we have more than a couple whiskey drinkers.

I myself am more of a bourbon guy, but really any whiskey is good, though I'm not a fan of scotch.

In fact, it's really the only booze i truly enjoy. I do like other drinks as well, but not nearly as much as a nice whiskey on the rocks.

In any case, list your favorite whiskey (or drink, if you're a pussy ;)). My favorite whiskey is crown royal, but like I said I'm partial to bourbon and really enjoy Jim Beam. On the rocks, of course. I'll also drink the bottom of the shelf shit if the mood strikes me (or i'm feeling cheap) like ten-high. Good stuff.

Have at it boys! I'm also partial to the dudes favorite drink, white russians. but they just dont do it like a nice brown glass of death :)

I'm much more of a rum guy, but I enjoy bourbon, Irish whiskey, and single-malt Scotch whisky (in different ways).

Bulleit is decent for the price as far as bourbon goes. I had some of that Ridgemont reserve, and it was good too. Other than these two, I haven't had much "good" bourbon to speak of, but I like it!

Irish is Jameson or Powers gold. I do not recommend buying more expensive Irish whiskey, as it is nearly impossible to get "the better grade" of artisan-level Irish in the USA, and most of any extra money you'd spend goes into a fancy label.

Good Scotch Whisky is ubiquitous, and your wallet will guide you as far as quality. It's almost universally true that the more you spend, the better it is. It is an important caveat that "good Scotch" ALWAYS means "single-malt;" a blended Scotch is ALWAYS rotgut, I don't care if you spent $800 on that bottle of johnny walker rainbow label, it's still a fucking blend and therefore crap.

I do not enjoy rye or unaged corn whiskey. Or Canadian whiskey. Even this crown royal black label i got for the dice bag (my real nerds feel me) tastes like fucking Kessler.

I heard the Japanese are coming with some good whiskey (real, "fast and hot" whiskey, not the mellow and smooth bourbon / american style) recently, but I bet it's expensive and I'm p. broke.

You seem like a man who is fairly well versed in alcohol HBB.

My favorite drink BTW is a well made Mai Tai (with juices, not syrups) or a mojito built around a dozen tenderly muddled chronic peppermint leaves.

My father was a violent alcoholic, so I learned from that and never picked up the heavy drinking act, so instead I learned how to appreciate it properly. I don't have an advanced knowledge by any means, but I know what tastes good to me! ;)
