P99 raiding

Are most of the raiding guilds on this server DKP based? NBG? Assigned loots? I'm new to the EMU mmo world, but played live servers for 5 years and then EQ2 for 6 (where i raided almost exclusively on 3 different chars by the end). Now, I work during the day, and am a musician at night (If you want to hear my stuff PM me) so my schedule is tough on raiding. I do want to raid, however, so NBGs (or any that raid enough that I could jump randomly and have a chance at loot) are probably much better than DKP for me. That exist here?

happy killing,

what guild were you in in eq2? in my experience, non-dkp guilds are basically like Heathers -- in vs out crowd.

But in eq2, I know a lot of people bought into that scam. What guild?

hehehe

Nah, I was DKP in EQ2. Was on the Oasis server. Was just asking because my schedule now would making buliding up dkp challenging. If most quality guilds use it, I'd probably just suck it up and do it though haha.

happy killing,

ain't no such thang as DKP, or they'll say it's DKP when it's really not. it's all loot council, so get ready to suck the fat one if you want lewt.

A lot of the raid guilds here are point based. The more casual raid guilds tend to be loot council. Flawless Victory is for the most part NBG, but big ticket items are council. I'm a casual player so FVs system works great for me.

the raid guilds have a PP based loot system which basically means you have to pay PP to the top tier guild to get any loot from a raid target

haha just kidding something like that would never happen!

The common complain against a dkp system is a fallacy. Namely, that the long term players just accumulate so many points, newer players cannot compete.

Every single functioning dkp long term dkp guild either deals with this matter easily, or has their entire member base gulled.

The easy solution? You do a monthy or bi-monthly point adjustment. The formulas are not complex. What you do is take the median, then adjust the top point bearers down by a certain curve, and adjust the lower ones up, excluding playing not meeting # or % or raids.

It is not hard. Please, anyone tries to give this bogus argument against dkp, is counting on you not knowing that this is how any sane dkp guild functions. They do periodic point adjustments. People who bitch? byebye!

it's fair, it works, it avoids Heatherism.

but maybe p99 likes Heatherism? that's cool. but I ain't lickin no mangina for loot.

I don't understand why DKP guilds don't deduct from totals when items are awarded.

Anyone who wants a drop could submit a blind bid with how many points they want to spend on said item and the winner has that number subtracted from his or her total.

Is there a drawback to such a system?

I am also looking for a raid guild where I don't need to show up to most raids yet still get awarded all the loots I want. Guild leaders PM me plz.
