Hello, Celeste Buckingham!
Oh hell yes...when she gets some regular airplay it's gonna be big. Too bad they're blatantly sexualizing her, that voice is fricking amazing....

Hmm...
Sounds like other female 'singers' on Youtube or the radio these days(and the past fifteen years).. check Looks like a fifteen year old in women's clothing .. check Thinks she's black .. check Doesn't write her own music .. check - or writes songs about inane shit no one believes or cares about (like Adele) Yes, you're absolutely right, when it gets air time it will be big. http://skreened.com/render-product/c...e.w760h760.jpg Yay.. |
Sometime around the year 1990, music took an unforeseen detour into shit and mediocrity. We are still dealing with the ramifications of that today, because unfortunately it is pretty accurate to call them the Lost Two Decades.

rant/rave about how shitty modern music is thread need to get started?

its actually been proven that music for the last 2 decades has all started sounding the same.
Wish i could find a link to the article, but im sure someoen could dig it up |
I don't think you can call the 1990s a "lost decade", at least not in England.
1999/2000/Napster/Pop Idol onwards however... total shit. |

Lately i been thinking about how I still like classic EQ; many things about it. It ain't perfect, but it offers things many modern mmorpg's don't. This thought made me wonder about other things out there; like music, artwork, movies, fashion, etc. If EQ can still be a good game even these days and I can prefer it over newer games like it then why can't the same hold true for other things; like music? Does this mean all old(er) things are better or does it just mean that sometimes old(er) things can be better, depending on the person?
(i'd swear that the answer is the latter) For example, this song really got me deep into it when I was playing Entropia Universe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST86JM1RPl0 It was kind of hte beginning of a rich philosophical journey into my soul. Yet, that song was released in March 1985, over 27 years ago. It's old. So why would I even be remotely interested? Well, I was. The same thing can be said about p1999. It hits the spot in a special way. My conclusion, if that's what it can be called, is that reality is so complex and diverse that even old things can offer something that new things don't. And that something might be just what you need. It's possible to live in a world of the present and past, not just the present. And some might argue that even the future can be spied on if you're clever enough to see it. 4th-dimensional living, anyone? |
