Setup Instructions / Files

Does anyone have a link to the old manual setup instructions and files?
EqEmu Launcher does not run on my machine and I need to setup manually.

Why does it not run? As in it gives an error code? Number one reason is because you do not have Net Framework 4 installed(and possibly 1.1 needed as well).

When you say 'old manual setup' I keep thinking of the original EverQuest setup - surely that's not what you mean?

There should be something about this on EQEmulator's website in the getting started area, or an ask on their forums might turn up a better result.

Heres a link to the latest patch notes where you can download the files manually
http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=84589
Just drag and drop them into your everquest folder.
Also, if you havent already make a shortcut of the eqgame.exe and then right click, got to properties, and make sure your target box has patchme written after what ever is in the target box.

Thanks for the replies!

Hollywood: It does not run because I am running EQ in WINE (linux).

Drieddead: Thanks. That is what I was asking for. Unfortunately it's not what I need.

Let me be more specific. Whenever I zone into Nektulos Forest, it bugs out; that is I can not move and it is just grey space. I was told that if I had read the Getting Started page, it says to delete the nektulos zone file. However it does not say that. It only says to ge the launcher.

I am assuming that EqEmu Launcher would delete/replace that file, but since I cannot run the launcher I need to find the modified Nektulos Forest zone file.

I check several posts, but could not find a solution.

Thanks again for the replies,
Leighton

Any ideas? Really want to start a DE, but I can't load Nek. forest.

Before attempting to zone into the following zones:
Nektulos
Lavastorm
Arena

You must delete the following files

nektulos.eqg
nektulos_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
nektulos.mp3
nektulos.zon
lavastorm.eqg
lavastorm.emt
lavastorm_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
lavastorm.mp3
arena.eqg
arena_EnvironmentEmitters.txt
arena.zon

MAKE SURE that you delete the right ones. NOT .s3d files for example. You also don't have to delete them you can just move them to another folder or rename them if you are sure you'll remember the old name to switch back.

that's it! thank you so kindly!

Heavydrop 02-04-2013 12:23 PM

what else needs to be changed on the shortcut (say on the desktop?)
I don't use the Emu patcher either, have had problems with it.
I know the patch me needs to be added but wasn't there something else that
had to be altered as well?
