Charm Question - Willowisp vs non magic npc
Bored at work and was thinking what happens if I charm a Willowisp and have it attack a Young Kodiac? Will the Young Kodiac be able to damage the wisp without a magic attack?
Sounds like a science experiment.
Who says the bear doesnt have magic claws?
Something inside of me wants to say that all NPC's are flagged as magical so their attacks are automatically magic. I might be wrong though.
I could be wrong, but i think this is how the Mayan people predicted the end of times would begin. Willowisp pets fighting kodiaks.
Seriously though, i don't know for sure either but i think like the above poster said, think all npcs are considered magic otherwise there would be some heinous activities in the commonlands. |
Give the victim a couple rusty weapons and it might work
that is the way it is supposed to work. On live, necros would charm ghouls and guard them in derv camps. the ghoul would make short work of all the dervs except the wizard versions could kill it if lucky enough to live that long.
yep, this was a well-known trick on Live.

It depends on the level. Like pets, all NPC attacks are magically after level...12?
It's really boring when you charm a low level willowisp, and then have it attack another low level willowisp. They don't damage eachother. |
I played with this a bit a while back on my Necromancer and found that you really want a ghoul as your pet for these reasons:
The wisp is immune to non-magical attacks, and does not have a magical attack. The ghoul is immune to non-magical attacks, and does have a magical attack. So a ghoul can kill wisps and just about anything else with impunity. But a wisp cannot kill a wisp. Edit: guess this could have been due to level difference, as SirAlvarex mentioned. But if you're of the right level I think this can be pretty amusing (and/or broken). |
