Any tips on where to solo or what armor to wear?

Giants in frontier mountains is what I would be doing and dark forge armor with the cheap bits of blood ember mixed in for ac along with a death bringer rod(30/40 and cheap) with either a atre shield/clay guardian shield/ or ask nicely to loot ashenbone shield . With a ebon mace / mace of shadowed soul/ or noct blade.
