Kind of new to P99
 

Hello fellow P99ers! I played a bit over a year ago only to the mid-teens before I took a break (mainly for RL schedule change) but am now back. I never really got to introduce myself then, but I'd like to take this time to put myself out there and say hi to everyone.

I used to play on live back since Velious through GoD (quit pretty shortly after GoD opened up.) Originally I was a shaman, but eventually rolled a halfling paladin on Karana server and loved every minute of it.

I'm playing a gnome necro (named: Kurze) and am only the lowly level of 8 right now, but I'm loving being back on EQ and look forward to seeing many of you in game!

:mad: Oh and I have to say it... shame on SOE for scrapping EQNext's revised EQClassic model and making it a sandbox style game. BOOOOOO!!!!!! :mad:

Dunno man, P99 is essentially a sandbox game. Not much direction, do as you please based on your relative strengths and weaknesses.

True. I guess there still isn't much info on EQNext out there, but it was originally slated to be essentially a revamped EQ Classic. This past weekend SOE came out and said they scrapped that entire model and are making it more sandbox-y. Sure EQ was relatively sandbox-y, there was still some structure to it.

I'm actually already in EC with my ench buddy, so I wouldn't want to go to CB and destroy my DE faction. Even if I'm not the biggest fan of Neriak. It's where I bank atm.

I've recently learned that IndigoBrotherhood faction is just the warrior guild Kurze (literally you would just have to avoid one building in Neriak commons), you'd still be able to bank etc without any issues as the guards are on DreadguardInner or DreadguardOuter.

Someone confirm that just in case, but I'm 99.99% sure :)

that's a no brainer. EQ Classic is too hardcore to be a profitable marketable product after what WoW did to MMO market.

Look at EVE. Sandbox is more profitable and more hardcore than the linear themepark MMOs have turned into now.

And to be honest, you may turn your nose up at a themepark, that doesn't mean you wouldn't have fun if you actually went.

I'm could not possibly get worse with IndigoBrotherhood and I haven't encountered anyone in Neriak I can't talk to.

Not that I'm looking around for the warrior guild, mind you.
