PL'ers

So I was told Monk PL's were the best in the game. Got talked into buying one, two hours later, I had three levels. I was just wondering if I got scammed or is this normal? I was in my low teens -- I felt like going with a druid might have been better for the price? I don't know, just want to know what other people's experience with power leveling is.

Powerleveling is somewhat class and gear dependent. However, as a druid powerleveler of considerable experience, my opinion is that you would have been much better off with a druid for these levels. Up to 25, it's pretty hard to beat a druid. We're still pretty good for powerleveling melee classes to 30 or 35, but after that it really slows down. This is exactly the point where monks really start to shine.

As a rule of thumb, I'd say beg some buffs in the EC tunnel up to level 10, get a druid to help up to 30 and then look for a monk. Three levels in two hours is pretty bad.

I could get any toon from 1-20 in less then 3 hours as long as they're somewhat twinked. Thats including manastone/ES legs and lvl 60.

With ES legs can also pl all the way to 60 basically, lol.

Back in my day i could take someone from lvl 1 to lvl 20 in an hour. Any class race combo.

Back when level cap was 50 I got someone from 14 to 36 in 5 hours, but that was a rogue which in my opinion was the easiest class to monk PL. A lot of it has to do with the PLer's knowledge and attentiveness, but at the same time I PL'd quite a few people who could have gotten a lot more levels had they paid more attention and followed my instructions. I think a lot of people thought getting PL'd meant they didn't have to do any work, which made my job harder than their EXP gain slower.

Would really need more details (level/gear of monk, levels you were PL'd, your class, zone used, mobs you were killing, etc) to know whether or not you got shitty PL or some other factor resulted in what you viewed as poor exp gain.

I'm not suggesting that this is what happened in your case...

But it's generally true. If the pl-ee is paying attention and following instructions, the exp will flow much, much faster.

A smart shaman craps on a druid easily, except maybe donals + mana stone cleric in classic zones.
