Starting up a new cleric, arsling or dark elf or..?

Whichever one you want to play the most. Just have fun!

Anything is better played as a dwarf.

Dark Elf and Halfling both get Hide I think. Since Cleric's don't get a invis spell a pretty big deal to have hide me thinks. Halflings get Sneak also.

Dark Elves get hide and the ability to wear robes (Robe of the Azure Sky and Vulak robe, super-end game thinking).
Halflings get hide and sneak and are a small race.
Dwarves have best starting stats.

The min/max choice is really between dark elves and halflings.

The invis issue can be overcome with items like Rings of Shadow, potions, and Larrikan's Mask, but the ability to do it whenever is epic.

Play what you like though.

Halflings get an exp bonus .

Dark elf... You get Hide as mentioned above and you get a snare, handy for duoing especially.

Dark elves do very well. First few levels are a pain but if you pick one be sure to frequent the undead spire (near EC zone line) and undead nuke the high hell out of the 3 spawns there :)
