Considering joining
 

I'm kind of wary of doing this, because of the low population, but unless something miraculous happens and a new game comes out that actually seems interesting this is like my only option. What's it like, being a new player here? Will I have anyone to group with? I don't like soloing; this is an MMO and I should be grouping and being social instead of playing a single player game.

I am the sort of player that likes to help people, and not be mean to others, so I was thinking maybe a cleric as my character? Are there lots of clerics, or would people be willing to group with me? Is everyone max level already?

Vanguard recently went free to play, and I would be playing there except they do not have a PvP server. I used to play EQ PvP, but was never much into the raid scene and I'm the sort of player that gets lots and confused a lot.

"peak" times are around 8pm-1am EST. but global ooc could help you get started with some exp groups.

Okay I will begin to download the game, at least to try it out for a short while. This may seem like a silly question, but which races do you usually see as clerics? I want to be somewhat unique if at all possible, and was considering either high elf, halfling or erudite.

Or do you think I might be more helpful to people if I were to be a druid, for teleports?

i leveled my bard 1-47 in completely empty zones. i never saw a single person until i got to dreadlands, and that's only because the same 5 people are usually in or near KC every night.

the population was 140 when kunark was released; it's barely a week later now and it rarely breaks 70 at primetime. i'd give it another two months or so before the population's back down to 30 on raid nights.

honestly, if you don't already have a 40+ toon kicking around, i wouldn't bother. this server's going to be a ghost town by the time you're high enough to see anyone else.

go Dark Elf (or can grudgingly admit to Halflings) all the way for pvp.
