Isn't it supposed to parry and return a swing? I've yet to see a returning swing. :confused:

Something I've been meaning to test out myself. Maybe tonight instead of showing my sexy armor off in EC tunnel ill grab a healer and take some logs. I honestly don't pay attention to my combat log enough to be able to answer properly.

EDIT* I also feel like I remember parry and riposte working separately, though I can't say im sure on that.

Yes, Riposte is supposed to parry and return an attack. Thats what made it so nice.

When you riposte you do not get hit, and hit the mob back. I wasn't sure if by using the word parry he was saying, your parry skill goes of, then your riposte skill can go off. I was under the impression, they were unrelated skills. IE - if you parry, you just parry and that's that. If you riposte, the mob does not damage you, and you hit the mob back.

EDIT* wouldn't be completely surprised if I'm wrong and u can only riposte after a successful parry but I really don't know never paid that much attention.

As far as I recall, Riposte worked independently of parry in EQ... In WoW, you had to wait till you parried, then for a few seconds, you could click the button and riposte if you wanted to.. However, this is not WoW.

There's nothing wrong with riposte. works fine. except maybe that you (at least 2ish months ago) riposte while ducking.
