sounds like there has to be more to it than that. just the other day Ambrotos called out a wizard who was tricking ppl with ports. if i willing give you 150pp for a port to sky, but get dumped in gfay, its still a scam. the whole point of a scam is to trick someone into willingly handing you something for (nearly) nothing.
