everquest free 2 play?!
 

hey I'm just saying this right here and now.
its pretty damn lame.
however the progression server is extremely entertaining! (sadly therre on GoD now)
and Cazic Thule-Fennin Ro (where i've been palying) has a MASSIVE player base and theres always groups!
but its way too easy mode now.
4 things that ruined it?
1) MERCENARIES.
2) GLOOMINGDEEP MINES which btw; instead of sending you to PoK auto sends you to Crescent Reach( The Drakkin home city)
3) infite boxing.
im not against #3....but its kinda ruined alotta stuff
4) hot Zones
they stopped choosing random hot zones and instead; have made all the Serpent's Spine zones Hot Zones. all the old zones (excluding Planes) are completely empty.

that being said; since i can only play p99 when im not at work (every weekend or so) i play during the Day on Cazic Thule (since im a silver membership i cant play progression server anymore :c) But if anyone wants to join me /t me in game some time on Bodicea, Eyeris, Chellsea(main), or Saraha.

ALSO for those of you who are interested in trying f2p EQ, I had restarted Maelstrom... but found out someone already did! so since Malestrom and Maelstrom were to similar.. we merged, creating The Golden Phoenix (guild voted on names ;p almsot were Hold My Hoops). and now were TGP is merging with Merchant's Kingdom to create Tempest's Wrath.

This is why EQ going F2P just doesn't work. Prior, boxing wasn't too hard (just a small investment) so doing so with an extra account or two was fine.

However, the day live went F2P I thought I'd box a ton of accounts for kicks. I had 9 clients running: 6 Wizards, 2 Clerics, and a Warrior. It was just...wrong.

However, the progression servers are still very cool, and requiring a monthly subscription means they won't be negatively affected in the same way. I'll probably get back into them in a year or so when they start another fresh, I did play on Fippy when it was Kunark-Luclin but it moves too damn fast.

Yah I agree about progression, I was on Fippy too but as you say they moved too fast.

They're on GoD now? Last I checked the boards were filled with Q_Q posts by the top guild about how the GoD vote wasn't passing and they'd failed 3-4 votes now keeping the server in Planes of Power/LDoN.

Good report but the only free to play EQ I need/want is here on P99 Blue and Red

But I do wonder about the old Test server... my best toons were there... hmmm... is the Test free to play on too? Is it still around?

ya i got tired of f2p.
in higher levels gear/spells becom limited to gold membvers and theres no more raids so i was like fuck dis! and came back

The test server is not only still there but from what I understand all accounts are treated as gold status there, even non-paying ones.
