client freezing on zoning
 

its like a 50% chance for me since that patch that when im zoning it just freezes and i have to close it out. not sure if this is a common/ known issue. thanks

Been getting this a lot since the patch, also.

I run p99 in a wineq2 window to work around apparent multicore issues, if that means anything.

I also am getting a ton of network issues recently:

* When I try to log in from the server selection list a lot of times I'll get booted back to the initial name/pw login screen

* Crashes on zoning pretty frequently

* Large warp detected when in game

It feels like there is just an overall network issue here that the ingame code deals with better than the zoning code. No idea whether that network issue is on my end, your end, or your code.

so I'm guessing my ISP is administered by idiots who broke something.

I am always randomly crashing when zoning since the patch. Client just says "entering..." but never does. This has happened maybe rarely before... but very often now. Crashed twice within about 5 zones today. I run the standard client in windowed mode with the patcher.

Same problem with me since the last patch. Seems like I can zone twice and third zone just locks. A real pain if you are in a group. I have to relog and do the wait forever to let me back in.

i get this as well, in fact just now trying to get in to EC from Freeport..

If you want to be useful about this,

1) Download Wireshark
2) Close all your internet programs
3) Start a capture, which is almost as easy as running it
4) Try to log in
5) See if you are getting a ton of malformed packets and other shit and if so post a screenshot.

I have a theory that there is a poorly configured router somewhere around there, but debugging the Internet isn't really my specialty.

Just wanted to add, I've noticed it happens a lot zoning into oasis, for some reason. Both from N ro and S ro.

Edit: Also happens when trying to log a toon into oasis, as well.
