yah its pretty much the same thing as anti harassment laws that are in place for telephone or mail.

There are plenty of laws on the book that aren't enforced on every single offense also..

the laws are merely there so they can charge / arrest somebody when the situation warrants it...

now to figure out when the situation warrants it is up the the DA.. and thats why they are elected officials... if they get to retarded about it.. vote them out.. (kinda like everybody who is all mad about that trayvon martin stuff.. the DA didn't press charges)

but they aren't going to go kicking down the door of everybody who makes snarky comments on the internet any more than they arrest people who make one or two threatening phone calls... or get into minor fights.. or carry a small amount of drugs... might not be worth the time of the police or the DA to even bother with it.
