Monk be a better bet for you than that Warrior was. Maybe you can get some brothers to PL ya. Prepare to be gimped in PvP for quite some time, tho.

until the mid 30s you will struggle a bit in pvp. monk melee damage is actually quite good in classic though. there's not a lot of resist gear, or hell, gear in general for you, but you don't need much to be successful.

you will be rather group dependent without some gear and know how, so it may not be a good '1st and only' char.

there's not a lot of monks. I am friends with two of them and have ran into no others in pvp or anything.

I've been playing a monk on Red since it went live. Casters own you in PvP outside of dungeons. Inside of dungeons, it's less uneven. Iksar monks are much better at lower levels, especially for solo play. In the high-end game, race won't matter much. BW to 70%, Fungi tunic and monk weapons such as T-Staff (along with new resist gear) will make a big difference.

I play a monk. I'm easily top 10 EQ player in the world. It's easy.
